1. I would like to pre-register for my conference/visitor pass, how can I make payment?

Please note that credit card (AMEX, VISA, MasterCard) is required for online payment.

Payment by Bank Transfer is only possible for Group Registrations and local delegates/attendees residing in Japan. A USD 26 / JPY 2,900 Bank & Admin fee applies for every Bank Transfer transaction.

Rates in United States Dollar (USD) will be applicable for all persons residing outside of Japan for all pre-registrations online.

Rates in Japanese Yen (JPY) will be applicable for all persons residing within Japan for all pre-registrations online.

2. I have registered and made payment online. How do I collect my attendee badge?

Kindly proceed to the PRE-REGISTERED counters at Basement B1F, Glass Building Lobby Gallery, Tokyo International Forum (TIF). Present this confirmation letter and scan the QR code above to collect your attendee badge. You may refer to the Registration Operational Hours lobby in the table below.

3. I have registered online, can I make payment at the venue when I arrive?

All online registration payments must be completed before 26 October 2018, 23:59 hours (UTC +9, Tokyo, Japan Time) to enjoy the Early-Bird rates on conference passes and before 3 December 2018, 15:00 hours (UTC +9, Tokyo, Japan Time) to secure the regular online pre-registration rates. Any payments made onsite, will adhere to the relevant onsite rates regardless of when you have registered/created your account.

To avoid the queues and the onsite rates, kindly log-in to the Registration Website using your Username and Password to complete your payment.

4. I did not make it in time to pre-register online for SIGGRAPH Asia 2018. Is it possible to register onsite?

Yes, it is possible.

Please proceed to the registration counters at Basement B1F, Glass Building Lobby Gallery, Tokyo International Forum (TIF), to register and make payment. Please note that onsite registration rates will apply.

6. I need an invitation letter to apply for a visa. How can I go about requesting for one?

7. Do I need a visa to attend SIGGRAPH ASIA 2018 in Tokyo?

In general, travellers who wish to enter the Japan are required to obtain a visa from the Embassy or Consulate General of Japan. However, there are visa exemptions for some countries. Read Exemption of Visa (Short-Term Stay) for more information.

8. How do I get from the airport to the venue?

The venue - Tokyo International Forum (TIF) is located approximately 53 minutes from New Tokyo International Airport, Narita, Japan via the JR Narita Express to Tokyo Station (5 minutes’ walk from Tokyo Station). If you are coming from Haneda Airport, it is 23 minutes to Hamamatsucho Station by Monorail and 4 minutes from JR Hamamatsucho Station to Yurakucho Station (1-minute walk from Yurakucho Station).

It is also accessible by Car and Limousine Bus by Shuto Expressway via 4 exits: Kasumigaseki Exit, Kandabashi Exit, Takaracho Exit and Kyobashi Exit.

The convenient alternative to reach TIF is via the Subway. There are 6 Lines that connect directly to the venue: Yurakucho Line, Hibiya Line, Chiyoda Line, Marunouchi Line, Ginza Line and Mita Line. Click here for the Tokyo Metro Subway Map.

9. Where are the exhibition and conference located?

All conference programs and the exhibition of SIGGRAPH Asia will be held at Tokyo International Forum, Japan (3-5-1 Marunouchi,Chiyoda-ku,Tokyo,100-0005).

The exhibition is located at Basement B2F, Hall E.

Registration is located at Basement B1F, Glass Building Lobby Gallery.

12. I have heard that SIGGRAPH Asia provides multilingual audio guides about the works shown in the Art Gallery, Emerging Technologies, and VR/AR Showcase. Where can I download them?

The podcasts are available in several languages (English, Bahasa, Korean, Mandarin and Japanese). They can be found under Audio Guides at the SIGGRAPH Conferences.

13. Is there translation support available for international attendees or contributors at SIGGRAPH Asia 2018?

Throughout SIGGRAPH Asia (4 – 7 December 2018), International Student Volunteers from various countries are available to help with basic translation questions, along with answering questions and problems that may arise for attendees. However, these individuals are not available to act as personal interpreters for any of the conference programs.

14. How can I find out if other people from my country or region are attending SIGGRAPH Asia 2018?

Prior to the conference, your local ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter may be able to help you. See the Chapters Directory to find out if there is a chapter in your local area.

In addition, if you pre-register online for SIGGRAPH Asia, you will be automatically included in our exclusive business matching program where you get to arrange meetings with potential partners/clients/employers in advance – everyone who is attending the event. With that, you will be able to check if there are anyone attending from your country or region.

15. Will I be able to connect to the internet at the venue?

Wi-Fi is only provided to Conference delegates (Full Conference Pass, Full Conference One-Day Pass and Basic Conference Pass holders) during SIGGRAPH Asia 2018. However, wireless service will be available throughout Tokyo International Forum (TIF). Users may have to register using their email or SNS account to access free Wi-Fi. 16. Where can I charge my mobile phone and laptop at the venue?

Charging stations will be setup within the SIGGRAPH Asia Exhibition Hall (Floor B2, Hall E).

17. Are food and beverages provided at the event?

For the purchase of food and beverages, there are 11 food outlets located throughout TIF. Click here for more information.

18. What’s the weather like in Tokyo, Japan in December

In Tokyo, December temperatures tend to be around 12°C (54°F) in the afternoon and drop to about 5°C (41°F) in the morning and at night.

Tokyo winters are sunny with little rain or snow. The air is dry, with the humidity around this time generally staying at a constant 30%. You will need a coat in December. On some days, gloves and scarves will keep you nice and warm.

19. Is there a Cloakroom at the venue?

No, but there are Coin Lockers located throughout Basement B1F, Tokyo International Forum.
