To assist with the Visa application process, we have provided the following general steps as a guide. Kindly note that the application process is different for each country. It is your due diligence to check with the Japanese Embassy within your country for the detailed procedure on visa application.
Step 1: In order for SIGGRAPH Asia organizers to provide an Invitation Letter for your visit, you must first register to attend SIGGRAPH Asia 2018. Once your registration is completed, you will receive a confirmation letter and an official receipt with your registration number/ID.

Step 2: You will need an invitation letter to apply for visa. To request for one, applicant is required to provide his/her registration number/ID and complete the online request form. Processing and mailing time vary for each country so please allow 7-14 days for the visa invitation letter to reach your mailbox.
Please note that application for invitation letter is only open to Conference delegates (Full Conference, Full Conference One-Day, Basic Conference and Experience Pass holders) and Exhibitors.
Visitor Pass Holders who require a visa to enter Japan are advised to apply for a tourist visa at their own discretion. Please visit Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website for more information.
The organizers of SIGGRAPH Asia 2018 reserve the rights to refuse any application if it is deemed suspicious of any illegal activities.
Step 3: You will also be required to fill up the visa application form and all other forms necessary as a part of the visa application process to enter Japan. Click here to download the forms.
Other documents such as birth certificate, a copy of identification card and certificate of employment may be required from you. Step 4: You will need to apply for visa with all the above documents at the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General with jurisdiction over the area in which you live or those with jurisdiction over the country of which the applicant’s passport is issued.
